Firstly, congrats on being a new DFI xback owner.
Here are the answers to your questions -
1. In our farm, we feed only frozen bee shrimps and frozen small fishes. No live foods are given. Hence, try to buy a small quantities of the above and split them into several packs, deep freeze and thaw one packet for each feeding.
2. As above. No, not advisable as this could lead to the fish over-eating, resulting in an early death for such small arowanas! Not to mentioned the host of parasites that often come along with live goldfishes.
3. Just provide good clean water. No blackwater is required for all gold arowanas.
4. The blue base will be out soon, so long as your tank is placed in a darker corner, or covered with dark papers on the three sides.
